Health Department promoting heart defects awareness

• February 9 2012-Non Profit Day on the Hill at Capitol Hill. This is a day set aside for non profit groups, such as IHH to have a chance to be heard! We will focus on newborn pulse ox screening…more info to come.

• March 19 2012, 1pm at Cliff Lodge at Snowbird-Conference on Congenital Cardiovascular Disease Open Forum. The Cardiology department has invited anyone who is interested to come that day and be a part of the forum. They will take time to answer our questions as well as ask us question. In the letter sent to IHH “I will assure you that we have a panel of clinicians including surgeons, cardiologists, and other medical specialists that may be able to add a unique perspective to the discussion”.

• May 19 2012- 2nd Annual IHH 5K, Murray Park. This year we will be adding a IHH family picnic directly following the run!

• August 10-11 2011-IHH Family Heart Camp, Camp Wapiti, Tooele Utah.

• September 8 2012-IHH Heart Walk and Pancake Breakfast, Canyon View Park, Provo Utah.

• October 2012-IHH Birthday Party and Membership Meeting, Davis County, Utah

• December 2012-Festival of Trees-Sandy, Utah

Heart Mom Luncheon for all mother’s of children with heart defects (living and/or angels), wives, women with a heart defect and ONE guest (i.e. mom, mother-in-law, sister, grandmother, a women who has supported you through your heart journey)

Place:  Noah’s, 322 W 1100 S  South Jordan,  Utah

Time:  Arrive between 11:30 am-12 noon   Lunch will begin 12:00, catered by Cafe Rio

Activity:  Glitter Toes (by reservation only)

Please submit pictures of your heart hero (one post-op, one current or one of them at home, one family, one short video clip of them “showing- off”) for our Heart Hero Movie Tribute!  Please include name, birthday and  angel day, defect(s), angel or living.  Please email all pictures and video clip with permission for use to Brytten at  brytten@ihhearts.org (*This is separate from all other pictures in the past)

CHD Awareness Week is an annual awareness effort to help educate the public about Congenital Heart Defects.

This week we have had people take cupcakes up the hospital

 and on Tuesday we had a great fund raiser held at Chick-fil-A. Thankyou to all that were able to come and support IHH. 

We hope this week you will take a little extra time and rememberthose Heart Heros that have CHD and also those who have passed on.
